ďFor whosoever shall call upon the name of the
Lord shall be saved.Ē Romans 10:13
Dear Praying Friends,
We thank God for you! This summer has been a busy and a blessed one. We are thankful for Godís blessings on various trips, both long and short!
Our last big trip was to Pensacola, Florida. We stopped in Tennessee on the way down to Pensacola and on the way back. On the way down we presented our work in Brazil at our future son-in-lawís home church in Chattanooga (August l9). We had a wonderful time meeting his family and friends. A bridal shower was held for Lydia. Pray for Shawn and Lydia as they prepare for marriage and then prepare to serve God in Spain.
We had a good visit with Ronís cousin, Cheryl Yow, in Mississippi. She survived Katrina two years ago and one year ago her husband died. Many churches were involved helping rebuild her home. Now she is helping others as a nurse on a missionary medical trip to the Amazon area of Brazil during the month of September. Pray for Godís blessing on her trip.
Our visit with our daughter Rosie at Pensacola Christian College went all too fast. This past summer was the fourth that she worked there to help with her college expenses. Pray for Rosie as she starts her fourth year at Pensacola. Her years at PCC have been blessed, but not easy. If you would like to encourage her, here is her address: Rosie Johnson. PCC Box 147. 250 Brent Lane, Pensacola, Florida 32503. Rosie has a burden to work with the persecuted church in Asia.
During the time we were in Pensacola, I was able to share our ministry in Brazil at a Philippine-American church. After our visit in Pensacola, FL we had a good meeting at another church in the Chattanooga area... AM service of August 26th. That night, on our way north, the Lord led us to a good church by the interstate in Kingsport, TN area. They had a guest speaker, a missionary from South Brazil that we had never met before. He challenged all of us from Godís Word with a challenging message on soul winning.
Recently our co-laborer, Brazilian pastor Mauro Rocha wrote to us about his need for a lap-top computer. Anyone who feels led can send a contribution to our mission in our name, but labeled for the laptop. Pastor Mauro also gave us the very good news that around 13 people have been saved at the Jereissati 1 Church this year and that there are now 15 converts at the little church in Butija. Praise God with us! Pray for the new converts as they are taught in the Word.
Pray for our son Andrew and his wife Damaris who are flying to the US on September 19. Their plane is scheduled to arrive at JFK at 7:30 AM on the 201h in New York City.
Thank you again for your faithful prayers and financial support on our behalf!
In His Love,
Ron and Nancy Johnson and family
PS: Pray for Libby as she starts her senior year of High School at home with Nancy as her teacher.
PSS Currently we are at about 77% of our support level and are in need of about $700 more per month. Pray that by the time Lydia and Shawn get married in December, our support level might be up to the mission recommended level. We would like to return to Brazil in January!
