So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth; it shall not return unto me voidÖÖ.Isaish 55:11a

  Dear Praying Friends,
Greeting in the name of Jesus from hot, rainy, Ceara, Brazil!
We would like to share with you what is going on in our part of the world. Rainy season has come! A dry country suddenly is green! The transformed countryside reminds us of how God says in Isaiah 55:10 & 11 that just as the rain causes that which is planted to bud and give seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so Godís Word will not return void! Sooner or later we will see the increase which God gives when we are faithful sharing Christ!

250 children in DVBS at Jereissati!

Rosie helped with activities.

Tug of war!

Some of the 30 who were saved!
A few weeks back, the Jereissati church held a DVBS that had 250 children in attendance. About 30 children responded to the invitation to accept Christ as Savior. Nancy talked with these children when they came forward and was pleased at how they seemed to really understand what they were doing in taking that step of faith. Pray that these children will grow in Christ!

Palmacia is in the mountains.

Letís pass out Gospel tracts!

Pastor Ricardo

Gospel service in street in front of church!
Just this past week end, a group from the Jereissati church drove 55 kilometers up to the mountain town of Palmacia. (The road up the mountain is an exerience!) Pastor Ricardo has been there since July, holding services in a small rented building. We spent an afternoon going house to house, passing out Gospel tracts and inviting folks to the service that would be held that night in the street in front of the rented store front church building. We found out just how hilly the town is, going up and down steep streets and foot trails. There were not a lot of people who came out that night, but many seeds of Godís Word were planted with the tracts. Thank God for one man who raised his hand at the end of the service. I sat and talked with him. He said that he had been saved in the past and has been walking out of fellowship with the LORD. He wants to be faithful from now on. Pray for him! I stayed up till midnight talking with Pastor Ricardo. Pray for Pastor Ricardo and his family! I didnít sleep much because I had to get up at 2:30 AM as something I ate didnít agree with me, because of the hammock being too small, and because the temperature got down to about 68 degrees. We got up at 5:45 AM and had breakfast with Pastor Ricardo and his family. We had a great time in spite of problems! By 9 AM we were back at the Jereissati church for Sunday School. That afternoon at 2:30 we were on our way 275 kilometers to Poco Doce. (Pray that Nancy and I can get some rest this week!) God blessed us with a safe trip and we arrived about 8:30 PM. This morning at 7:30 I was at the Bible Institute in Paraguai where classes have started. I spoke to the students on Godís power and how He wants us to live by His power. Ephesians 5:18 Rosie stayed ďaloneĒ in our little rented house in Jereissati as she is teaching at the Jereissati church school. Pray for safety for Rosie! Jereissati can be a dangerous place.
Thank you again for your prayers and support!
Yours and His,
Ron & Nancy Johnson (plus Libby)
